1. Research Interest

Research topic of the Yamashita research group is Mathematical Optimization. The objective of Mathematical Optimization is "to find the best solution among available candidates." Then, the key-phrase of our group would be
a mathematical approach to pursue the best.
If you are interested in our research, please feel free to contact us.

2. Research Topic

The keywords of our research group are

Mathematical Optimization
Continuous Optimization
Nonlinear Optimization
Semidefinite Programs
Symmetric Cone Programs

Recently, we focus

Optimization for Tree Breeding
Optimization in Healthcare
Nonlinear Semidefinite Programs

Our direction is to solve larger-scale optimization problems in shorter time with higher accuracy . We study both mathematical framework and software implementation.

4. When you want to join us

When you want to join us as a master or PhD student, please first contact us by e-mail in http://www.opt.c.titech.ac.jp/yamashita/. We will discuss whether your research interest matches our direction. If foreign students attend our group (even one student), we will have some seminars in English. We expect you to have studied the basic knowledge of Linear Programs, Linear Algebra, Convex Analysis, Computer Programming (like C or MATLAB) and English conversation.
However, the most important thing is your mind to enjoy studying Mathematical Optimization.

When you want to enroll Tokyo-Tech as a student, please check
